Board of Trustees

Alexander Davis

Chairman – Alec, a Kenyan citizen born in 1950, has served as a Trustee of Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital since 2000 and currently holds the position of Chairman. He is a professional engineer by training.

Mrs. Anabelle Sequeira

Board Member – Anabelle Maria Cardoso Sequeira is a member of the East African Women’s League, Rosslyn Branch, and joined the Board of Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital as the League’s representative.

Prof. Elizabeth Obimbo

Board Member – Elizabeth is a Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Nairobi, and a consultant paediatrician and pulmonologist. She has authored numerous research publications.

Terence Davidson (Terry)

Board Member – Terry Davidson is a career banker, having spent three decades with Citibank in multiple countries, and five years as Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Commercial Bank. He has extensive leadership experience.

Bimalroy Shah

Board Member – Bimalroy Shah (Kilu) is an entrepreneur and businessman. He serves as Managing Director of Flexopak Kenya Ltd and has long been engaged in various initiatives at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital.

George Maina

Board Member -George Maina holds a B.Tech (Hons) degree in Engineering and Design from Loughborough University, UK. He is a business consultant and also serves as a director of several companies.

Dr. Mark Awori

Board Member – Dr. Mark Awori is a paediatric heart surgeon and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at the School of Medicine, University of Nairobi. He has authored numerous research publications in his field.

Jonathan Somen

Board Member – Jonathan is a prominent Kenyan businessman, born and raised in Kenya and educated in both Kenya and the United Kingdom. In 2000, he founded AccessKenya, the country’s first publicly listed ICT company.
