Vacancy Announcement Full Stack Developer

Gertrude’s Children’s hospital is looking for a talented Full Stack Developer to join our software development team. The Full Stack developer will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing enterprise level software solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with other developers to implement user-friendly interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js. Strong backend development skills in Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java required. Experience with databases such as MariaDB, MySQL and proficiency in Git and Git workflows is also a must. This role will be an onsite role based in Nairobi.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide programming within the hospital management information system.
2. Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.
3. Writing documentation to describe custom configuration of applications and operating procedures to liaison with 3rd party application development consultants.
4. Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems.
5. Make recommendations on custom applications which may be required from time to time based on new technologies and the hospital’s requirements.
6. Provide programming for in-house IT projects.
7. Provide SQL and MySQL development and administration in live and test environments.
8. Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide
9. Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications.
10. Verify database and data integrity.
11. Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide advance level support and troubleshooting for all systems.
12. Analyze data contained in the corporate database and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions.
13. Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects.
14. Develop and maintain database and application integrations.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

1. Bachelors in ICT or Bachelors Related Computer Studies.

2. At least 5 year’s relevant work experience.
