Getting Here
By Bus
Gertrude’s Hospital pick up point is located outside the Co-operative Bank Bomb Blast site, Moi Avenue just next to the Railways Bus Terminus Round-about.
There is a fee of KSh 30 and the van leaves for the main hospital at intervals of 1 hour.
Parking
There is ample parking available 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. There are no in-and-out privileges on the same ticket.
Time Period Charge
- 0 to 2 hours – Free
- 2 to 3 hours – KSh 50
- 3 to 4 hours – KSh 100
- 4 to 5 hours – KSh 150
- After 6:00 PM – a flat rate of KSh 50.

M-Pesa
M-Pesa services in the hospital are found next to Gertrude’s Institute of Child Health and Research.
Restaurant
Inside the main hospital there is a restaurant called Table 49 where all types of Kenyan dishes and snacks for children are served.
Prayer Room
There are two prayer rooms to cater for Muslims and Christian clients. Those clients wishing to access the rooms can ask for assistance on how to access the facilities from the attendants.

Playground and play room
We have a designated playground for children. This facility is accessible to both inpatient and outpatient. The slides and the swings have been set up on an artificial turf which is baby friendly. Please accompany your child to the playground for the sake of their safety.

- Morning Hours: 6:30 am- 8:30 am
- Lunch time Hours: 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm
- Evening Hours: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Parents are welcome 24 hours a day. There are times during the day when parents may be asked to step out of the room or unit. Both parents or legal guardians or one family-designated caregiver may be in the patient’s room before and after visiting hours. Sleeping arrangements are available for one parent in most rooms. For the patient’s safety, please do not sleep in the child’s bed.

To protect each child’s privacy, only parents or legal guardians will be given medical information about a patient.
